Topic Dog Boards / General / going from 5 to 1...

I must admit it's really strange just having the one dog around now. In a lot of ways it's so much easier, she is a steady girl and is quite happy to sit on the sofa while I'm at work, and she is well behaved on lead and around the village.....but I do miss the others :(

and getting food organised!! feeding 5 seems like a doddle compared to feeding 1!! It can be awkward making up batches of food that will last 3 or 4 days, I don't always like it sitting around in my fridge, so all the previous routines I used to have have all gone out of the window! She gets a whole block of tripe to herself now, which means I try and feed less for her second meal.....why is it so bloomin difficult, especiallya s I work shifts and have to time her meals so I can take her out before work etc....

and a few people have said that she must be lonely being the only dog now, but I really don't think she is. She used to always take herself off to the kitchen to get away from the hullabaloo of the other dogs, whereas now she sprawls on the sofa all day quite happily, amnd I think she loves the one-on-one attention she gets now!!!

has anyone else "downsized" their dogs??
