In Finland i thought they used the FCI scoring for hips.

Just seen a result for a dog for Hips - UA

What does UA mean???

I thought maybe Unavailable. (More than likely i am way off the mark).

Its for a friend in NZ and she has been checking out pedigrees over in Europe and was stuck on what that meant.

It looks as though UA is an excellent result, meaning no signs of HD. :-)

I think this is a really helpful guide when you have non UK blood in your dogs pedigree and the results of health tests are on the pedigree..

I think UA means AA ie both sides scoring A (as against A/B) - but wouldn't swear to it :)

UA mean "no faults" (rough translation)
UA is used for Elbows. UA is what you want. That means healthy elbows. If there are signs of dysplasia , the score will be 1-3, where 1 is best, 3 the worst. But UA is what you want.
On hips you get A,B,C,D,E  Not UA.
A+B is OK, A of course best. C is a sign of dysplasia, and E is the worst scenario.

If you find Hips UA, it's usually someone getting it wrong. But should at least mean that hipas are without faults = UA
