Since we are now putting the final touches on the bathroom like trim and stuff hubby had me paint the shelves for our closet then said when he's done mudding I can finish painting the bathroom- I said fine... I wanted to wash floors today but that will wait till tomorrow cause I have to grab son from Taekwon-do class so I said don't B**ch cause the floors are not clean, put it off yesterday to grrr!!!- then I said hmmm I'll let you paint the bathroom cause tomorrow I will wash these floors, clean bathroom when your done (thats my mess to clean up)- No one helps me with that and I vaccuum and wash floors- or how about laundry thats my job too- hmmm plus I hold down a full time job- yes he pretty much makes supper he usually does the meat I do the side dishes- But reno's when they are done they are done and house work and laundry well thats never done! The kids do dishes and pick up poo but of course not with out a complaint or wishing your dishes were clean lol- Can't wait till kitchen is done I so want a dishwasher.....

Sorry had a rant- feel much better now....
- By suejaw Date 05.04.09 21:20 UTC
I ditto that here as well. Except i do the cooking... And the washing and the picking up poo.

I work full time as well.

It sucks being female sometimes, really does
- By snowey [in] Date 05.04.09 21:38 UTC
I totally agree - my kids are all over 18 now - and treat me as maid - and I work full time.  OH cant do anything except follow me round the house when Im trying to clean  - offering to make me coffee grrr - only so I can sit with him.  It makes my blood boil
- By suejaw Date 05.04.09 21:46 UTC
I have no qualms about doing it all for me and leaving the mess of someone else around for them to clean up. I did try this once and put all their rubbish into their lounge, kept doing it, make no mistake this hint was ignored... Couldn't stand the mess so cleared it up myself eventually..

Thats my issue, they work too, they create mess but don't believe they should do anything about their mess..

GRRRRRRRRRRR - -BLOOD IS BOILING!!!! You've started something now....

(Going for a smoke before i combust with annoyance)
- By luvhandles Date 05.04.09 21:47 UTC
Tell me about it! I get really stressed out about housework - especially with the children because they don't help out at all unless I nag at them like crazy. Hubby is great but he works so hard I can't expect him to do any more than he already does. I get frustrated because I have mobility problems and chores tend to take me forever and I always end up over doing things. There's just not enough hours in a day, thats the problem!
- By furriefriends Date 05.04.09 22:03 UTC
I second all of that !!
- By dollface Date 06.04.09 12:38 UTC
I use to only do laundry on sundays but that took up my whole sunday- now I do it starting on friday and done on sunday- but thats not including our bedding, animal bedding either or all the rags I needed to clean thats done through out the week.... My daughter complains that I start on friday- I just tell her thats fine your laundry is not downstairs then it does NOT get done till next week No exceptions I just don't care. They do bring down sort their laundry and also fold it cause I refuse to do that. Bedding they bring down and also make their own beds- LOL I bought my children new bedding and my daughter also got a new comforter for x-mas I had to litterally get mad at her to bring it down to get it washed- well she has not had it washed now since x-mas week eeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!!! I asked her if her sheets are crawling yet and she says you never ask for it so I told her thats because everytime I did it was a fight cause she didn't want to rip her bed apart so I don't ask I also told her if you want it done ask me cause nothing for me to throw it in the wash after work, thats how mine and my sons gets done lol- hmmm still sitting on her bed and today I have a dentist app so pretty much home all day except for the morning think I am gonna vacuum and wash these floors.... If they bring their laundry down and socks not folded out and sleeves stuck inside shirt ect that is how I wash it now- ooops tired of telling you that also goes for my hubby- Iam forever grabbing dirty clothes from under the bed and the basket is at the foot of the bed  how hard is that!!! Their rooms look like a huricane went through it-

Funny cause if hubby decides to help clean the bathroom the only thing that he does is the sink- well what about the rest of the bathroom like the toilet, tub and the vanity ect- floor?

His excuse is that he changes the oil and now will be doing upkeep on my boyfriend (my motorbike) now I laugh I tell him he's my boyfriend but he has to service him lmao :-D Then says he keeps the yard up- well hello I also mow the lawn so hmmm think that is both of us- reno's ya maybe more him but I help destroy the part and my son and I always do clean up- its his dad and him that put back together and if need be I help a bit there to if I can.... Iam the one that makes all the app for everyone in the household- guess thats what mothers do....
- By Crespin Date 06.04.09 13:11 UTC
I do a lot of work around the house too, and its horrid!  But it makes it more horrid sometimes when other people say you dont do anything and that your lazy!  Usually happens when I have a lazy day, just lay on the sofa and watch some tv.

Thanks for reminding me Dollface, that I need to go do some housework!  (hangs head in dismay)  LOL
- By mahonc Date 06.04.09 13:16 UTC
my partner is great around the house, for example last weekend he made us tea and toast in bed, i asked why he always uses just one plate, he replied "well im only being considerate arent i? less for you to wash up"  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
- By bear [gb] Date 06.04.09 18:26 UTC
My husband does work really hard and i don't work so i expect to do pretty much everything else around the house but what really annoys me is when he can't find the washing basket for his dirty clothes, does he really think i want to pick up his smelly socks and undies off the bedroom floor. He has the same problem with the dishwasher, he just leaves what ever cups, plates etc he uses in which ever room he's in ans lets them pile up until i move them.
Apart from that he's pretty fab but these things do drive me up the pole.
- By dollface Date 06.04.09 19:54 UTC
Hubby never says to much if the house is a lil dirty cause if he does then I say clean it lol He says he does a better job dusting then I do- I said really when was the last time you dusted I remember it was suppose to be around x-mas and am thinking like 2006 cause I had my mom over for supper.... He told me that he would dust and never ever does- I no he has alergies but that doesn't work with me cause he carves- I mostly leave the yard work for him but usually end up helping.....

LOL went to the dentist the morning- then went looking for a bathing suit and couldn't find one but somehow I bought 1 pair of jeans, 2 capri's and 3 tank tops  O'well I needed em and still on the hunt for a bathing suit... I never ever do that and prob should not have but they were on for buy one get one 1/2 price....

Why can't bathing suits just be fitted and sized like bra's?

Then came home and cleaned my whole house, am I ever tired now....

I think im a little bit spoilt hearing ppl on hear.
My hubby works very hard running our business for our family. But he stills finds time to bring me a cuppa in bed in the morning, and will even hoover up before he leaves for work on occations if its required...and do the dishes.

Mind you he wont cook or do washing yet. lol
After 32yrs of being married i dont think he will cook now.
- By snowey [in] Date 06.04.09 21:14 UTC

Goldie,
My hubby also works hard running our business. I also get a cup of tea in bed every morning and he empties the dishwasher, straightens the cushions on the sofa's, opens the blinds, makes the boys breakfasts (human & dogs)  carries the dirty laundry down stairs for me and has a general tidy round every day before he goes to work....we are very lucky  :-)

I make sure that he gets to relax in the evening, he comes home every night to a spotless home with a nice bubble bath waiting for him, dinner cooked and then tv and a glass of wine.
- By craigles Date 07.04.09 06:31 UTC
I consider myself spoilt too, my hubby wakes me every morning as he's leaving for work with a cuppa. He's emptied the dishwasher, fed the dogs, got relevant meat from freezer or similar for evening meal.  When he comes home as I work 3 evenings a week he does the ironing and cooks evening meal.  I work split shifts so do my housework in the afternoon before going back to work and do the shopping etc.,

He also meets me from work at 8.35pm two nights and 9.15pm one night.
- By craigles Date 07.04.09 06:35 UTC
Forgot to add if 15yr old daughter wants pocket money she has to make sure her bedroom is tidied, her ironing put away (it is done for her).  Assists with a few jobs around the house too, last night as it's easter hols and I work in education so no late nights during school hols! I assisted her in making the evening meal of chilli con carne as she needs some cooking skills!  She did very well.
- By kenya [gb] Date 07.04.09 06:51 UTC
My OH isnt that bad, he will make supper, sweep floors, walk the dogs etc.. but prefers to come home and sit down, expecting everything to be done, and why do they always ask " Whats for supper"??
- By Dakkobear [gb] Date 07.04.09 07:29 UTC
This is all sooooooo familiar. I get my breakfast in bed in the morning - so I keep out of HIS way and he can get out to work without needing to have any conversation! My OH will do things around the house but what really bugs me is why do they always have to be told what needs done and asked to do it? If I can see the mess they why can no one else? I don't tidy my daughters rooms now - but every so often I get the 'mum can you help me....' cry from younger one - her bedroom by then looks like a bomb has hit and when I do help I find all sorts of wee bits of paper/sweet wrappers/plastic carrier bags etc - she has a bin in her room for heaven's sake! My elder daughter is at university now and was complaining about one of her flatmates who never washed her dishes etc - I have to admit I laughed and said 'welcome to my world' :-D
- By dollface Date 07.04.09 11:28 UTC
Mine does do most of the cooking which is nice- and I usually cook the side dishes when I help- but come summer then all cooking is left up to me since he works late- starts at early but usually not off till way late- I do take him his meals to make sure he is eating and a glass of milk.... When he does cook he's not very good at cleaning up his mess....

In all I Love Him and thats what matters most :-)

Luvhandles i think we are very lucky. Bless them.
- By craigles Date 07.04.09 16:46 UTC
This is really awful but some mornings if he's running late I lie in bed thinking 'if he don't hurry and come up with my coffee I'll be late for work!' instead of just getting up and making my own! How lazy can one be??

i really didn't realise how much my partner did until he died 15 months ago.we were together 34 years and had 3 children together.I thought i did all the jobs in the house and garden on my own.since he had to go i've really understood what a team we were.whatever i do now, i realise that half the team is not there.John used to call himself my apprentice,he would do all of the cleaning up after the big jobs were done, mow the lawns and tidy up the gardens, while i would do the buying and planting.he'd provide the drinks and snacks while i painted and hung the wallpaper.then we'd make our tea together.sometimes we had bursts of activity and would decide to dust all our books and cds,he'd take care of his and i'd do mine and we'd play word games or make up silly rhymes.we absolutely loved playing scrabble together and played at least twice a night in our playing season(somehow there was a natural season to play and we'd stop for a few weeks then start up again just as enjoyably as ever).we were both terrible cheats too but i would confess, while i would find odd letter tile in his shirt pocket or under a cushion after a game resulting in much fun and laughter.i've never looked at the scrabble box since and i've never dusted our books and music.i have no enthusiasm for doing the garden although i do the minimum.our bed is cold and lonely because he used to warm it up for me,and my pyjamas.we thought somehow that we would be about eighty and go together.i didn't mean to go on like this but i just wanted to talk about him,i hope nobody minds.x
- By luvhandles Date 10.04.09 22:28 UTC
Oh Poppity, please don't apologise. What a lovely tribute to John. I have tears trickling after reading your post. I don't think many folk realise just how much we take each other for granted. You and John where extremely lucky to have each other for the time that you had together. ((Hugs)) to you. xxx

Ahh poppity, nobody is going to mind you sharing your treasuered memories of your partner.
I was just about to add my comments on how useless my OH is around the house, I scrolled to the bottoem of the page, read your post and felt really stupid for taking my OH for granted. He may not be any good at helping with the housework, but he's part of all the good stuff in my life - thank you for reminding me of that.

I am so, very sorry for your loss, I can't even begin to imagine what it feels like. Your posts really hits home, it's all the small things that make such a big difference, the cheeky cheating at scrabble :) , the team work when re-decorating, the silly little jokes and things that we share with our OH that other people just wouldn't see the funny side of...

A big virtual hug coming your way poppity xxxxx
