I know you won't be able to see the wound, but I'll try and describe it.

Lottie has what looks like a 15mm long puncture-type wound on her right shoulder. Because it's not on a fatty area it's not that deep (probably 3mm). Don't know how or when she did it, and only noticed it this morning because Hattie keeps licking it. Anyway, I've bathed it with colloidal silver, but wonder if it needs stitching or is it best to just leave well alone?

Any idea when it happened ? I know with humans if not dealt with more or less immediately stiching is often too late and as long as the bleeding has stopped the wound is left. Colloidal silver will help

Puncture wounds need to be kept open so that you don't seal in bacteria, but if it's only shallow it sounds more like a gash than a puncture. For stitching the skin edges need to be fresh; if more than about 12 hours has passed the vet would need to refresh the edges so that it could be stitched or stapled. If the bleeding's stopped I'd probably leave it alone to heal.

No idea at all. It's not bleeding, it just looks wet. I only noticed it when Hattie started licking at it. It still looks "fresh", no scab has formed.
