I would appreciate some recommendations for a complete food that you find your dogs actually like.
Now I have got Hannah (the Greek!) and have a total of 4 dogs it would a lot more convenient if they were fed on dry food. At the moment they are having the James Wellbeloved Lamb & Rice mixed with a small amount of Butchers Tripe. Hannah eats the meat and leaves all the JW. I feel she needs the goodness of a decent dried food having had a bad start in life. It is however expensive to buy a big bag of something that you end up throwing away.
So wondered if there is one particular brand that you find your dogs really like, something really tasty - mine are all so picky.
Thanks all
Snowflake.
PS She is settling in well, less submissive now but amazingly clean. Only one accident on the first day and fine since. However my stairgate ploy is a joke and yesterday she cleared it from a standing start!
If you ring the dog food companies they are very good at giving you free samples. Orijen ( which mine liked before we went raw ) will give you money back from you first back after you buy a sample.
I use JWB for my two,and one of them would not touch the lamb and rice at all. She would only have JWB turkey and rice at the time. But i have now changed them both on to JWB turkey and veg and they love it and good solids other end. It is a bit pricey for the size bag you get,but it works for them.
Orijen for 4 dogs though may be quite cost prohibitive? I only have 2 dogs but because they are large breed I couldn't afford to buy them Orijen. I've found Arden Grange seems palatable to most dogs I know and there's lots of different varieties to suit every whim!
I so wish my boy loved AG, we have gone through a few of their bags now and he's never been interested in any of the flavours..
A couple people i know work for them so i pop in and ask for guidance, get a small bag of something and he turns his nose up unless its got some huge smelly fish topper on it - defeats the object
I have had my two on Origen 6 fish since mid December and they have never turned their noses up at a meal yet which is a first for Harvey, who is really fussy when it comes to dry food.
My boy is currently on this and he is doing well on it, long may it last.. I think the high content of fish is doing it and it stinks of fish.. So we are currently on a winner..
