My understanding of the statutory redundancy scheme is that an employer can claim back the costs of redundancy payments from the Government (up to a certain limit). But I cannot find any written confirmation of this.  I have tried googling but most of the sites relate to the employee rather than the employer.
Does anyone know where I can check this out ?

There is some info here about it being paid through NI but looks like you have to repay it

Many thanks to you both for the links.  Looks like I was wrong about the Government's contribution.....just as well I checked !
