Topic Dog Boards / Health / ?? Split season

My youngest girl 11mnths came in to season on March 14th, we've had no problems with her at all. Lots of excitment from the other girls, play mating between all of them and even the old chap has noticed the perfumed air but has not been sure what it's all about :-D Silly old duffer has no winky to speak of anyway. :-p

The following Saturday my second youngest girl 1yr showed signs of beginning her season, her vulva was slightly swollen and there was some red loss for about 2 days, by day 5 nothing, she's back to normal. Is this a split season?

I have had 3 bitches have seasons before these babes and all have been like the youngest is at the moment, none have been like 'Miss non-starter'. Can I expect her to begin season again in a few weeks time? Will this be a regular pattern for her now?  I do not intend to get these two girls spayed.

A few other things I'd like to know from those that have multi dog households like mine with entire bitches. Do you notice that even the spayed bitches get fruity? I've also noticed that all of my girls try to keep my neutered old male away from my young one in season, they growl at him and push him away from her, even my old GR girl, and she looks pretty stupid with a snarl on her chops. :)

I know it's not ideal for everybody but so far I've found managing a bitch in season in a multi dog household pretty easy going.

hi 1 of my girls did exactly the same last year her and my other girl had settled into a nice patern of 10 months between each season both brought each other in, then my youngest girl had her 1st season this tied in with when my 2 older girls were due in but 1 of my girls only bled for 1 day then nothing, i have 1 entire male and 1 neutered male here the entire male never showed any interest in her which told me it wasnt even a silent season and she didnt flirt outragously with my neutered boy either so i knew she wasnt in anymore (she picks the easy targets lol ! ) 6 months down the line the girl who had the split season has just had a proper season this time round again with my youngest who is on her 2nd season my other girl is showing no signs so she may still be in her 10 month cycle, fingers crossed they all tie back in with each other soon and i can get it over and done with within a few weeks again .

i only have the 1 neutered boy the rest are entire so i cant really comment much on your 2nd question they all at some point get fruity with each other even had a conga line of up to 3 dogs humping each other :o :D
