Hi All
I have been feeding my westie pup Robbie naturediet since not long after getting him but over the past few weeks he seems to be going off of the food and i must admit it doesn't seem to be the same as it used to be, i am currently looking at an alternative wet food to feed him but it has got to be a good quality with natural ingredients, i have looked at natures harvest or forthglade as these have been recommended to me but haven't made a decision yet, the natures menu i am not keen on so wouldn't choose to feed this, the dog trainer where i take him for his classes suggested forthglade as she said that this is a good quality food but not heard much about this.
Has anybody else found this with naturediet that it doesn't seem as good as it used to be since they changed the varieties?
Thanks
Helen
I feed my 2 toy poodles on nature menu tins not the pouches as I have tried nature diet natures harvest and forthglade none of which the eldest Rusty aged 4 and a half liked. I note from your post that you are not keen on natures menu is that because your dog doesn't like it? I have to say Rusty wasn't keen on the pouches but when they weren't available I tried the tins and he eats this better than anything else I have tried. I have to order it specially as my local pet shops only stocks a few tins and only in the one flavour so I order it in bulk from a wholesalers. It is expensive but in my opinion a good quality food.

I feed my Papillons on NatureDiet and they love it. It's the only food I could get one of them to eat.

I have not had a problem with ND at all and my JRT is thriving on it and looking really good.
I did try Natures menu when ND was out of stock once and he got a terrible case of the runs. I didn't like how every flavour seemed to be the same colour regardless of the meat type used.
I tried nature diet for my 2 toy poodles but they didn't like it very much and sorry to be so graphic but their motions were strange they were often covered in what looked like a sausage skin so I assume the nature diet didn't suit them. I used to feed the natures menu in pouches until it became unavailable again, so tried the natures menu in tins which the older of the 2 who is very fussy prefers, they are a bit different from the pouches in that 2 of the varieties have potato in instead of rice and they do look different from each other and also the consistency is different from the pouches.

My Labs look fab on Nature diet :)
Thanks for your replies, my westie seems to have gone right off the naturediet puppy at the moment he is just picking at the food where as before he used to clear the bowl in no time, he is nearly 8 months old and i know i am still giving him 3 meals per day but he doesn't seem to be eating any of them that well.
Just wondered if anybody else had found this with their dogs on naturediet thats all.

The problem may not be Naturediet. At 8 months he should be on two meals a day or whatever schedule you plan for him as an adult. If you are still feeding him three meals a day, he just may not be that hungry. I would also switch to the adult variety.
(For Cairns the recommendation is for them to go on adult food and an adult feeding schedule at 6 months, since Cairns and Westies are as close as two breeds can get ... my assumption here is that what works for Cairns will work as well for Westies.)
We have changed food for my cocker as he went right off it. Now I use Science plan dried and natures best for wet food he likes the mix and eats like a horse now!
