Has anyone ever used these?  If so what one(s)?  I was wondering if it was indeed a legitimate way of getting some extra money, but don't want to be ripped off or have my information used illegally.

It seems a bit too good to be true IMO.

All comments / advice / recommendations welcome. :)

i joined a few and dispite doing a profile they always say im not what they are looking for as a target audance but only after you have answered lots of questions.
Ive done a few but have yet to be paid anything. imo a waste of time.

I belong to one but you wouldn't be able to earn much from the surveys. I think I have done eight in the last 5 months ( the only ones I was eligible for) and have earnt £6 :-)

Have to agree with Newf3 I'm afraid.  Lost count of the amount of times I have filled in surveys only to be told one page before the end I am not suitable!!

Have you thought about mystery shopping?  I've done a few assignments in the past, one of which was to my local B&Q where I had to buy an item for under £10 then a couple of days later take it back and get a refund, assessing the person who served me and how many people were in the Q etc etc.  I got paid £10 for doing it and it was really simple.  A few assignments require you to go to a bank and enquire about opening up a bank account etc etc but you don't have to take those assignments if you dont want to.  I don't have a poker face so would be absolutely useless at those ones but going into shops and just assessing the staff was really easy.

The more assignments you do the more rewards you get and better assignments will come your way.

I signed up to a few. Been getting loads of surveys sent through, but was worried about my personal information so never filled any out. I now get a lot more spam due to this as well to my email.. Grrr.

I like the idea of being a mystery shopper though, that sounds like good fun as well. I know that you can end up being paid to have meals in places.

I signed up to be a mystery shopper 18 months ago and in that time have been offered 3 tasks but I've not done any of them as what they offered wouldn't have paid my petrol! :(

I belong to lots, do perhaps 10 surveys a day and have done for years. Yes you get a fair few where you are not right, but it doesn't matter to me. You need to stick with it and not give up. You're never going to really make proper money from it, but I'm very happy with what I get. Last week a cheque for £35 from one, a £6 Amazon voucher from another and this week £6 to PayPal. Now and then Argos or WH Smith vouchers. Every now and then products to test out like washing powder, shampoo etc -saves you money. The way I see it is, if I can get enough to buy my books for (I read a LOT and there is at least one new book out per month I want to buy) then we're not using money needed for essential stuff. I think over the years I've got quite a lot. One you cannot collect anything from until you have reached £50, I'm about a fiver away on that one so should fairly soon have another cheque. It's all done for companies, often I recognise stuff later that I  see in adverts on TV. "7 out of 10 people said" -that's me! :)

I belong to YouGov and have already been paid £50 from them and almost up to my second £50! I also enter the YouGov prize draw surveys although have not yet been lucky enough to win one.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 25.03.09 18:35 UTC
I'm with YouGov too, and have also had £50 from them, but I'm only halfway to my next £50!
- By WestCoast Date 25.03.09 19:08 UTC
I'm with YouGove too but at only 50p per survey, I've still got a way to go to my first £50! :(

The only ones that I've found worthwhile are:

Onepoll - really silly amounts, usually 10p a survey, but they're short and plentiful, so the money mounts up. Pays out at £40 and it doesn't seem to have taken all that long to get there.

Valued Opinions - although haven't had any of these for a while.

Pinecone - if you can get on it - £4 a survey to Paypal or in luncheon vouchers.

Maybe i'll give them a go then.. Still very dubious, clicked on loads of surveys after the last thread which was on here about it, so not that long ago.

I do one and get regular surveys to do. It pays in Amazon vouchers so is great for me. You can save your points or cash out at 100 points and start again. You get 3 or 4 points if you answer the prelim questions and are not suitable. However depending on the length of the survey you get between 10-30 points. I have gotten two £16 vouchers in a year . Not alot but came in handy at Christmas when the sales were on. My £16 went a long way...:-)

Thanks everyone will have a look at the ones you've mentioned.  Makes it more legit if someone you know has used them and they've paid out.  Thinking it might be a little bonus every now and then that I wouldn't normally have had and I won't even have to leave my desk.
- By hairyloon [gb] Date 26.03.09 11:56 UTC
I'm a daily survey 'doer' too - I don't make loads, but the odd £10 herer & there soon adds up. A couple of the others have mentioned though, there are a couple of sites where you can only withdrawyour payment once you reach £50, so unless you're going to be quite dedicated, then porbably not worth it as it could take years :-)

I'm on Yougov, Toluna, GlobalTestMarket, Lightspeed and a couple of others I can never remember!!

I signed up to one after reading the last post on here about them, and i just got my first 10 quid voucher for shops! You can choose which you want, so a tenner in boots, or argos, or certain clothes shops and depending on how many points you earn depends on what amount your eligiable for. but i think its been worth my while, its come in handy that voucher and i am nearly onto my next 10 quid voucher which i might use in boots, and only been using it around 3 months or so... not sure if thats good in some peoples eyes, but i take what i can get ha ha :)

I did a survey recently for someone who came knocking on my door and he told me i'd be entered into a prize draw. I thought that will be the last i hear of that but this week i received £30 of vouchers to use in a variety of shops, had to laugh at the first 2 - zavvi & woolworths :-)  but also homebase, iceland, debenhams etc
- By yorkies4eva [gb] Date 27.03.09 12:28 UTC
Lol well the first 2 arent much good, that made me chuckle! But thats really good!! I didnt know they came knocking on your door though :-o
