well my lovely dog has been on weeks and weeks and weeks of rest,( due to  Cruciate Ligament injury severe) has had a course of weekly injections and has now started hydrothearpy which has helped so much its unbelivalbe and for the last 10 days she has been well 'normal' no limping happier in her self etc

Then this evening .......her leg went on her to the point where she could not weight bear, Now is really limping again

feel really bad for her as she was doing so well, just hope this is not a major set back

I'm sorry to hear this has happened.  Sounds exactly like what happened with my Rottie.  He was doing great with hydro and thought we were really getting somewhere but unfortunately went lame again suddenly, he had to be operated on and I have to say I'm glad he was because it solved everything for him and he could get back to normal....well until he did his other cruciate...oops!

I really hope it isn't a major setback.

Me to, the last 10 days or so she has been walking so well and seemed more herself,

Cant believe it, Will keep her on even more rest the nest few days and she has her swimming sat so hopefully that will help

This happened to my Chow boy as well, after the initial op it took him about six months to get full use of his leg back.  Then a month later I took him for his morning walk and he was fine, popped out for an hour and came back to him not being able to use the leg at all.

The poor boy had to have another surgery, I can't recall what the vet said had caused it but remember him saying that it was something that happened in just 2% of cruciate repairs.  It's very frustrating having to go through it all again but in our case no further problems since the second op.  I hope your girl gets better soon.

Thanks for your replies, she has not had the op so at least we have a plan B if needed

she is walking not so bad but there is def  some difference in her leg

Just trying to keep her quiet

Just another thought - sometimes when they rupture/tear their cruciate they also get cartilege damage.  This happened to my boy last week and he had to have an op to remove it.

Maybe she has been doing too much too soon?

No she has been on complete rest apart from the hydrotheapry which she has once per week and is the only thing which is helping
