Hi,

My dogs is a very happy dog but over the last few weeks has been acting strange by trying to bite objects in the air that are not actually there, we have been staying at my parents for a few months as we are having work done at our new house, i know it sounds silly but we originally thought there was a ghost or something as he would only do it in a certain room and mainly in the evening.
The behavour has become more often  so i did a bit of research on the net and found this
http://www.canine-epilepsy.net/flybite/flybite.html
it describes what he is doing to a t and the dog in the video looked like a bernese although i think it may be a greater swiss mountain dog as i can't find a bernese on the breed list.
I just wondered if anyone had come across this before and if certain breeds were more prone, also what were the outcomes.
thanks in advance.

My schipperke bitch behaved in the same way and was later diagnosed with epilepsy - you can contact helsinki university as they are doing research into epilepsy for all breeds and are very good advising you what sort of symptoms to look out for - they'd love samples from your dog for their research too.
