...argh!! I think I'm going mad!!! I've spent all wknd trying to find a nice cottage for Spring May holidays that allows a dog & isn't going to charge me £600 for a week!!

I've tried Sykes Cottages, Welcome Cottages, Hoseseasons & not having much luck!!

Can anyone help? OH wants to be near Snowdon which I think is the problem!!

I've booked two cottages from these companies for our summer holiday, one just north of Snowdonia, and one just south.  They were about £550 for July, so should be cheaper in May.

Have you tried eBay?  Or Gumtree?

You may not want to book via eBay but many 'private' cottages are let that way as it's considerably cheaper than using a holiday lettings company.  I've noticed that a lot of the listings have links to the owners own websites so you can book direct if you like.  The auction facility seems to be a common way of shifting last minute availability at lower prices.

Someone recently added a thread about dog friendly accommodation on Anglesey - you can see Snowdon on a clear day!!

We've just booked a 'dog' cottage in Aberdeenshire through cottages4you.  I didn't think their prices were too bad but I'm still amazed at how much it increases during kids holidays...

I've tried cottages4u, they have some (are they the same as Welcome Cotatges?) but the increase in price when it comes to booking during school holidays is scandalous! Quality cottages put their prices up on average about £200!!

Just had a list e-mailed through from Snowdonia Tourist Services so will see what they have to offer!

I stayed here about 3 years ago and it is very dog friendly, secure garden and lovely walks from the door step. and yet close to village amenities. Top price is £418
