Topic Dog Boards / Health / Pug season, first one at six months?
- By TrishlovesMiley [gb] Date 14.03.09 09:26 UTC
Hi all, my little pug has come into season this morning, Boo  :(
Is it normal so young? I know it probably is with a smaller breed but just checking, my little baby is growing up,Goodness knows what I'll be like with my Human daughter! :)

6 months is the average age for a first season in all breeds - she must have read the books!

The earliest I ever had a girl come in season was 5 months, and I was very surprised, just never had one that early before.  She had the worst phantom I have ever seen in my life!

I've had a schippy bitch pup come into her first season at 17 wks and never suffered a phantom during her long life - think it all depends on the girls

ahh, poor girl, is she miserable? :(

are you all set for keeping her away from boys? do not underestimate how determined they can be!

Ha Ha yes I'm prepared! Just waiting for my male boxer to try and get through the doors! Before I had my bitch boxer spade he did make a hole in the middle of one! lol
I think she is a bit down, I did wonder today if they had cramps like us. :(
My eldest son,(12) has spent all day saying YUK! Bless him he's confused as to why they differ from us as she is still only a baby. We have had to have the birds and the bees talk again but puggy style! lol

i think they do, our girls always get very low looking for the first week or so and insist on getting tummy rubs

She hasn't asked for any of these yet but I'm ready and willing bless her.
She is even more clingy than normal, if that's possible. I didn't realise what a clingy breed they are as I don't think it's just Miley! :)

poor girly, plenty cuddles would be my suggestion :)
