Hi everyone I,ve just recieved renewal for my girls insurance.
Its doubled
I really don,t see how they can justify this ,she,s a very healthy little dog and has not had a single claim for the last six years she,s always been with MaS from being a puppy.
I,m really not at all happy with this I feel if anything I should be receiving a no claims discount.
I did have Inga insured with them as well and the last eighteen months she had were quite expensive with xrays and treatment for arthritis and so I,m wondering if the cost has been passsed on to me because of all the treatrment she received
Don,t get me wrong good insurance is well worth paying for and I would never like to be without any but the other thing that really did me in with MaS is the fact that I renewed Ingas insurance at the end of october 2007  and paid up front for the whole year
when she died christmas eve of 2007 I half expected a refund of part of the premium but at the time was too miserable and upset to pursue it

I know the feeling. Our dogs are insured with M&S as well. The premiums have been rising steadily over the last three years! But when our now 9-year old pyrenean's policy came up for renewal last month, I was well shocked when it doubled from £54/month to £110/month!!!

I have now changed our pyrenees to Axa, which has of course now exclusions of previous conditions (arthritis), but only costs me £30/month! I was not prepared to pay £1300/year for pet insurance, that's almost twice as much as my own health insurance costs!

It was a bit of a wake up call though and I have now decided to (in addition) put money away regularly every month into a pet account, so one day I can self-insure... I feel that within a few short years, pet insurance will be completely unaffordable!

we're about to change from more than to Tesco- a good chunk cheaper.

My boss prefers that people insured with Tesco pay the bill then get the claim made out to repay them. Although they generally do pay up, they can be very, very slow.

I have used Lloyds for many years and always have been pleased with their service, my insurance is still under £30 per month for a 9yr GSD with ongoing treatment for hip displasia.  My St was also with them and his insurance barely went up despite several thousand pound payout for bone cancer.

I have recently insured my young Leo with animal friends, not quite so reasonable but the cover is excellent.  I've not made a claim yet but I took it out upon recommendation.

Please do not be tempted to use E&L - I think the low premiums tempt people in but their service is appalling (it has taken 6 months for me to be paid on both occasions I have claimed), and no vet will deal with them direct due to their bad reputation.

I am with tesco for my girls, and one of them has ongoing treatment,my vet claims each time with no problems,i dont have to pay anything  at all.
They even pay all hydrotherapy treatments, and i understand not all insurance companys do that.
No complaints so far, they have been very fair.

Maybe up next time, have to wait and see.
