Topic Dog Boards / General / dog poo loo?
- By starmutley [gb] Date 10.03.09 19:37 UTC
To save our kitchen bin from odour overdrive and our toilet's flush from packing up we have brought a dog loo for the garden. It is one that comes with a chemical solution that is poured into the bottom, cylindrical in shape with lid, placed in a hole surrounded by stones, shingle etc.
My question is this - having failed miserably to use the provided poop scoop for picking up Khan's poo (he saw the scoop, thought it was a toy and promptly ran down the garden with it and its contents!!) I have resorted back to the tried and tested method of using blue roll. Can the paper be put in the dog loo as well? Cannot find anything on instructions on packaging for or against it and feel that traipsing back up the garden to the downstairs loo to flush it away kind of defeats the object!
IMO it would seem better if we could especially as the paper is not always 'poo free' after use! It's only been in the garden a few days so have yet to find out if its fully functional!
Many thanx for your thoughts.

Unless you have just one tiny dog I think you'll be disappointed with the dogloo. I've never known anyone who's found them practical or effective; I doubt if the paper will make any difference I'm afraid.

I found that ours very quickly gave up with the output of a labrador and a dalmatian - even when some of the poo was being done in the fields. It soon turned into a foul stinking pit; a complete waste of money. I hope you'll have better luck!

Let's hope the manufacturers have done something miraculous to improve it otherwise hubby will not be pleased after all the back breaking digging he's put in!!
