hi all, just to ask,

i have 4 sbt, 3 of which have same father, this particular 3 all have same skin probs, is this just coincidence or has the father passed this on, 2 out of the 3 are full sisters and the other one is their step brother, i am getting to the point where im at the vets every week and although im insured its never the same dog thats having problems, and bless them they are always getting these lumps that i think are due to a reaction, their skin looks like bubble wrap, it actually makes my skin crawl, the thoughts of it,

iv never really asked a question here, im mainly just looking for any advice if anyone has had a similar kind of problem and what the best thing to do is, the other thing im debating on is rather the 3 of them get skin scrapes, should i just let the oldest one get a scrape and if the test comes back that there is a problem then maybe i could treat the other 2 with the same sort of care, eg if its the washing powder or food that is causing these problems,

any advice very welcome,

sami x

My Staffie used to get bumps which to describe looked like she had been scratched when playing and the skin raised up.  Sometimes only a few and other times there were loads.  I think it also happened mainly in the summer.
I treated her homeopathically, had to do this twice and it has never re-occured.

hi just wondered im not very brainy, lol does that mean you used something from the vets or some remedy? sorry if so what was it?

I didn't use anything from the vets - they would have probably given her a steroid injection etc but it would have cost a fortune.  Instead I my friend gave me a homeopathic remedy and this worked a treat.  You can get all the stuff health shops.
I will find the remedy and let you know - its worth a try.

Could be something simple like the food that you are giving them.

i had the same with our frenchie and found that it was the chews i'd given her as a treat.  if i kept it to just the light coloured hide ones.....no problems.  but if i gave her the coloured flavoured ones........big lumps appeared and even her eyes became puffy.  dont know if that helps you at all.

yea we use the same hide, sterile white hide. i think it could be something they have to eat but cant quite put my finger on it
