Can anyone recommend a suppliment that may help to calm an over exciteable dog.

You could try a dap plug in and/or kelkene capsules both available from you vet or far cheaper off the internet  from someone like petmeds. I have used them for my cat with success and also have a friend whose 4month old boxer broke its leg and had to be contained for a few weeks. They worked well for her too

Have you tried changing the food?  some dogs foods do cause dogs/pups to be over-exciteable ;)

Have just put him onto burns venison and rice from arden grange lamb and rice

Well that should do the trick LOL  give it a week or so tho ;)  and watch he doesn't lose too much weight ;)
