Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Earliest signs of pregnancy ??
- By FINNEGANSHOUSE Date 07.03.09 14:37 UTC
Hi
I have previously mated my bitch and she had a lovely litter almost 2 years ago, during this pregnancy she became very vocal and playful and was constantly ravenous, she would go to the fridge and bark at me until I gave her a slice of ham from the fridge.  About 18 months after this litter was born we decided to breed from her again as my son was looking for a working dog, her mood did not alter at all nor did her appetite and needless to say for whatever reason she did not have puppies that time.  She was mated again 15 days ago and I know it is too early to tell if she is pregnant, her mood has changed greatly and once again she is very vocal, loving, and always looking for food.  She has always been a fussy eater and now she eats up every meal time.  She is a deep chested breed and her ribs look very rounded.
Has anyone had experience of just knowing by the signs that their bitch has taken ??

Many Thanks

I think behaviour signs are a big sign more often you 'know she is pregnant' by the way shes acting before you physiologically know.
