I am quite upset by all this wind we've had tonight.
My father has recently built and put together a lovely kennel for my boy. He loves being outside and living inside, even at night its too warm for him and he puffs and pants and doesn't really enjoy it.
He has been loving his kennel until tonight.
I have come home and the wind has lifted it and thrown it onto its side. Its not in any fit state to put upright and will need a lot more work to it before it can be used again.
This was a sturdy structure and none of us foresaw this from occurring other wise the dog wouldn't of been allowed in it.
If the wind subsides tomorrow then i'll see what i can do myself to sort it out, it is such a shame as has only been up a few weeks now.
The dog is fine and i have been told he wasn't in or near it when it tipped over.
Darn this wind.. Also the potential snow coming on thursday as well.

Just to add the dog is now inside and asleep at my feet on the carpet, so may just have to sneak him into my room tonight, so any mess is in my room!!! ;-)

I'm glad your dog is OK - bet he enjoyed his new sleeping quarters even if warmer than he usually prefers :)
We've had high winds but not as bad as you describe. It was snowing during the night but not enough to cause problems as yet although forecast in our neck of the woods is for heavy snow tomorrow

My Dad has had a look at the kennel, its not badly damaged at all. BUT it needs lots of muscle to move it back in its place and they are planning to put more measurements in place so this doesn't happen again.
He's getting the reinforcements in today to try and sort it.

What wind!!!! I let the dogs out at about 9pm last night and all I saw was SNOW !!!! did not think it was cold enough for it, most of it is all gone this morning though.
Was going to go to the caravan later on today, but think I will wait another day to see what this crazy weather is going to be like.

The wind was so strong on the south coast where i live last night that when i was at work i had to walk from the car to someone's home and nearly got blown over. They spoke about gusts of 60mph plus as a prediction. Not sure how windy it got but the wind could of blown me to the floor had a not been trying my hardest to stay upright.
They are however predicting sleet and snow for the south east tomorrow and i'm sure many other parts of the country.

Hi
Not wishing to scaremonger, but consider bolting the kennel to the gound or attaching it to the house in some way shape or form if you can........I don't do DIY as you can probably guess! :-)
My parents live on the south coast in West Sussex and in the great storm of 1987 they lost a GSD who used to live outside mostly. The kennel (handmade by my dad and a really solid construction that was more like a small shed than a kennel) was blown across the yard and we guess knocked against the fencing which collapsed. Sadly, they never found or heard of the dog again. :-(

This is being done today, the bolts are being built now and my dad has got his friend who is a muscle man to help put it upright and in its correct position. Its going to be secured to the ground and also the side of the house too.

That is so very sad, my thoughts are with your parents on this. I must not live too far away from your parents then. That storm ripped through our roof, though i slept right the way through that storm.

We had sky like that on tuesday. The sun is out, or was on the beach this morning when i took the dog for a walk.
We have hardly any wind now either.
DO wish we had more predictable weather in this country, though saying that i checked the forecast in LA and its raining there also, made me feel that little bit better.

They are replacing all the gas mains in our village so many, many of those blue barriers had all gone down like dominoes by this morning. Quite a job driving out round them all :-)
Snow off and and all day but beautifully sunny now.
