Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Is bitch pregnant?

Hello,
we successfully mated our bitch and stud two weeks ago - we already have 5 people on our reserve list which is good. However, a couple of them are desperate to know if she is pregnant yet.  The last litter we had was our first litter, and with a different bitch, she started to change and show symptoms of pregnancy at 4 weeks, and we took her to the vets and they did something like an ultrasound at 5 weeks.  We are wondering if there is anything we can do to tell sooner, or should we just wait to let time run it's course?  I want to avoid any upset and minimise poking/prodding as primarily she is our pet and not a breeding machine.
Any advice as last time we didn't have a reserve list so people weren't asking us every five minutes!!

its simple you can tell them its to early ...we have ppl on our waiting list and did with last litter ...we had our girls scanned and then told them at 5weeks into whelp ...:)

it is not good for whelps to be prodded or poked untill much later after 35days but if you dont know what your feeling for take her to the vets thay should be able to tell

Is this bitch not still on the young side or am I getting your dogs mixed up?  What is the minimum age recommended by the breed club?
