I am wondering if perhaps we should be more cautious about putting our home addresses in show catalogues given the amount of public bad feeling and the threat of protesters.
What do others think?

i have always witheld mine.
not for that reason but in case of dog napping etc.
you never know what can happen in this day and age.

I always withhold mine from catalogues, don't say what town I live in on my website, not listed with BT etc -it's just sensible what with all the dog thieves about these days.

I don't withhold mine, but I am in Germany and there is not the same atmosphere toward pedigree dogs. I may reconsider this when I return to the UK.

I have just removed my home address details from the breeder pages and put an x instead
Have left mobile and email and may well remove the whole listing - Not worth the risk

I always withhold mine, have ex directory phone number etc.  I am an ex parrot breeder the sort of hobby you just don't go giving out your details to, hell we'd not allow folk to come see the birds for security reasons, all sales etc were done via our clubs or show days, few weren't members of the Parrot society who organised the shows.

We have to book our tables for each show with early entry passes, all cages and birds are checked prior to entry, the doors are locked tight with tables and several society members on by the tables so that all the birds and cages are checked for size, cleanliness and health BEFORE they're allowed into the show.  If you have a problem they take out back out via another door at the side and give you the reason for refusal of entry, if it is due to overcrowding or dirty cages you get a 2nd chance by going away dealing with the problem then re joining the queue.

It always amazes me how easy it would be to steal a dog from a show or gain information re exhibitors that can be passed to another during a show with said victims getting home to an empty house or no dogs - in Parrots our animals are outside folk can hear them so security is vital despite some of the birds being very capable of amputating fingers noses etc folk still try to steal them.  I have seen this sort of thing happening to friends in Aviculture with thousands of £'s worth of birds taken on show day or after a private purchase, I never sold from my home, it was always done from my parents house some 30 miles away to safeguard my birds.
