Just wondered if it's a pug thing because my little bundle of joy just can't help herself. It's like she just has to lick me or the children ALL the time! :)

My puupy constantly licked us for the first few weeks we had him! he would follow me and lick my leg as I walked! He doesn't do it now though.......unless your bare feet touch him, then he can't resist.

yes ours dose it all the time, she can be a bit of a pest with it.
my hubby has to have his beared washed when ever he is sat down.
if she isn't on his knee she is on mine, or my son's.
wouldn't be with out her or change her in any way.

Oh licking addicts!!! Mine will lick carpets and furniture, she doesnt hold back on people either, she just loves to lick!!! I think it is a pug thing :0)

It's not just a pug thing ;)  I have cocker spaniels and we've changed Lily's name to Licking Lil's she just has to lick you.....lol.

Dont think its just a Pug thing...my Samoyed loves to lick everyone, she especially loves to lick children but I try not to let her, I never know what she's been eating!! :-)

Lol or cleaning! I hate fish and last week my husband let her lick out his salmon bowl and  she ran up to me afterwards licking my face while he was in the kitchen in hysterics! She smelt vile! :)

My dogs have garlic with their breakfast - the worst time to receive kisses from them is just after they have finished!!

Funny though as my Cavalier is not licky at all - if you ask her for a kiss she looks all shy and embarrassed!

Well my new boy isnt licky yet however some of the others are already washing my face. Perhaps he will stay that way and leave it to mum to do the licky thing. Although, i think mum is now all licked out.....having pups was fantastic for her, she could lick all day long!!!

This made me laugh, our Samoyed loves to lick our arms when we're in the bath if we dangle them out of the bath!!

My girl pug licks constantly, I call her lizard lips cos her tongue is always out. Every morning when I get out the shower she licks all the water off my legs and any other time in between my face is targeted. 

All the other dogs get washed too which surprises me as I thought that was a sign of submiting, but this little madam is a right little bossy britches.

My boy pug doesn't lick often, just a sly tongue down my earhole when I'm least expecting it.

Lol yes they're good at that! My children are often in hysteria on the floor with Miley pinning them down and nibbling their ears! :)

My older fawn loves to lick, especially if you have bare legs. She also loves to lick our staffie to the point of him having no hair on the inside of his ears and has thinning stripes of hair down each flank (we call them his 'Go Faster' stripes lol :-D).

The others arnt as obsessed, but my black bitch will try and give you a cheeky tongue sarnie if your not careful *rolls eyes*

My mum's dog likes to lick, but she isn't a pug lol (she just snore like some).  Perhaps they are after the salt on your skin?  I would be tempted to say it is that and not purely a sign of affection.

Awwww shucks, I'm disappointed now.  :-(   My latest show baby is always giving me french kisses, and I thought it was love!

to be digusting as well our Boston folds her tongue almost in half and forces it up your nose,its like a snakes tongue,she also does the ear licking as well,the boxer boys lick but not the girls though i keep away from the boys as they are willy lickers yuck

I have a BC and he does this alot.  I googled it yesterday just to see what the reason is for it more so as he has just started licking my 13 month old grandaughter. I started looking after my grandaughter at the same time as i got my BC and he really did not like my her that much.  But it seems we have turned a corner as now i cannot stop him licking her, she loves it and giggles so much, fortunatly my daughter does not mind.  I do try and stop him though as reading about it yesterday it should be avoided if you have young children as their immume system ( sorry not spelt right) is not fully developed.

Not a pug thing at all--our WSS feels it his solemn duty to lick the beard off any man's face, he really pins them down to give them a good strong wash and then gets increasingly concerned because his best efforts sem to have no discernable effect. He's also pretty hot on licking feet straight out of the bath/shower...bless!:-)
