Is it possible to check how many litters were registered in one year in Glasgow.  One of my mastiffs is the absolute double of one that was rescued recently in glasgow, they had little info on the dog (now in a super home). There is not a lot of mastiff dogs up here. The couple that have him would love to find out as I would.

Thanks Christine

Hi Christine

litters aren't registered per area - only per breed.  There are dogs of my breed rehomed in areas at the opposite end of the country from where they originated, some through breeders themselves, breed rescue and others general rescues (lost/strayed/stolen/who knows :( )

If still in contact with your breeder perhaps you could let him/her know as were this one of theirs I'm sure they'd want to know it's new owners details.  Failing that if you have the date of birth and registration papers for your own dog, perhaps you could contact the breed club and let them know you believe one of his littermates may have been rehomed near you.  That way, they may be able to alert a breeder re this dog and possibly assist in establishing a connection with the new owner :)

HTH, Teri
