
I wouldn't say having all the hereditary health checks done can
prevent puppies going on to develop hereditary diseases - if only it were that cut and dried but certainly yes, it shows the breeder is responsible, caring and committed to their breed and doing their very best to try and eradicate health problems and of course reduce the chance of any pup going on to develop such health problems.
So much focus on this forum on cavalier health (in the same way a certain BBC programme went about things) - excellent of course that it educates people out there but please lets not give the impression that this delightful breed is the only one at risk of hereditary disease ! It is one thing educating people - it is quite another, giving such a negative view of one breed that no-one will end up wanting to touch it with a barge pole !
