I came across this on the net, there is a few sites that recommend different things though.

Liver Cake
This recipe is a piece of cake! Cheap and easy to make, it's ideal as a titbit to use in training.

Ingredients
1 lb. liver (preferably lamb)
2 eggs
1 whole garlic bulb
12 ozs. self-raising flour
1/2 pint water
A strong air freshener
Method
Pulverise the raw liver, eggs and garlic in a blender or food processor.
Add flour and mix.
Once blended, add water or milk.
Pour mixture into a line cake tin (7-8 inches).
Cook at gas mark 5/180 degrees for half an hour or until the mixture is firm to touch.
Cut into squares when cool.
Be sure to spray air freshener at regular intervals! Use within 24-36 hours. Can be frozen.

Note: You can use up your turkey or Sunday dinner leftovers by substituting the bits of meat etc. for the liver. Don't worry if the off vegetable creeps into the mix. It's all good stuff and your dogs will love the home-made treats. Excellent for training use quickly or freeze for another day.

Hope this helps

As an alternative, I don't use flour, I substitute it with bran. I prefer mine more like a biscuit though than cake, it's easier to handle. I don't use all that water, only a couple of tablespoons. Beware though! I get mugged by all the other dogs when I make it.

It was our trainer that suggested liver cake when we were training our Lab, and the airfreshner, which at the time I didnt understand, but as soon as we started using it, we soon understood. :-)

They really love it though.

My recipe is very similar, i don't use water but also add in garlic and baking powder

I put mine in the oven on the lowest setting and let it slow cook until its solid and risen - usually for a good few hours.

Edited to say i see you've got garlic in your recipe.. Ooops
