Its just been reported on Yahoo that there was another dog attack in Bristol this morning.
Gsd's involed this time.
From the report it seems that two dogs got out of there house and start to attck passers-by.

It's on the
BBC news website too, how bizarre for the dogs to just attack people in the street :-( I wonder (assume) that these things must happen often and it's just that dog attacks are newsworthy at the moment.

No statement from the owner reported !! This must have been very distressing for the women and children concerned. The report however did say that none of the injuries were serious. As a past GSD owner children often wind the dogs up with their squealing and fast moving actions. A child that is scared of a big dog will jump up and down screaming and throwing their waving hands up in the air. A dog thinks this person is playing with me and starts to jump up too. This naturaly worrys a concerned Mum, who procedds to behave in the same manner as the kids and in some circumstances attacks the dog. The dog retaliates and then is branded as vicious. Education is the key, the dog owner in being more resposible for keeping their potentialy lethal weapons secure and women and children taught that remaining calm and assertive is their key to safety.

Also mentioned that one of the people was deaf so wonder whether they came from behind and scared her?
How anyone can let such large dogs loose I just don't know! Hope everyone is OK and not to traumatised by this.

This has been a topic of conversation at our work place today. Was started by colleagues who are parents and continued by me and a few others being dog owners and lovers.
We all stated that anyone who cares for their child and dog would never leave them alone in the room together. We also mentioned that babies who are attacked, its the owners or carers of the dog at the time who are at fault.
Same in a way goes for young children, some will taunt dogs and again this can be a cause for the dog to turn. But in each scenario no dog should ever be left with any young child at any time. It doesn't take a lot to move the dog out the room or pick the child up as you leave.
To be this is living in the real world and also using your common sense.
For once we all actually agreed on the same thing.
I know some people say that their dogs are bomb proof and their children have been taught right from wrong in dealing with animals, but you just never know and can never predict anything with children or dogs.
