Please Please can anybody help,

We have been trying to find a Whippet dog to buy for over a year, and there dosnt seem to be any anywhere. We have a 18 month old Border Terrier who desperately needs a companion.

If anybody knows of anywhere - please contact me at "sarahjayneshannon@ukonline.co.uk"

Your help would be greatly appreciated,

Thankyou

There is whippet site called K9community.co.uk. Try posting there as they sometimes have puppies or people looking for homes for older dogs. Good luck

Hi,
don't know if its any help but I saw Whippet pups advertised in the Scottish Daily Record last Thursday (8th August) - doesn't say anything about being KC registered though.
Hope this helps.

Please DON'T buy a puppy advertised in the Daily Record, most are puppy farms, one is in Galston, Ayrshire, and the other Dalrymple Ayrshire they are bringing puppies over from Ireland.both are advertising about 7 or 8 different breeds, or running a single advert, both are being investigated just now and a petition is going round the local ringcraft classes to stop the one in Galston getting a license for a breeding establishment. There are several more scottish "breeders" advertising in the record and other scottish papers they are also buying in from either Ireland or the North of Scotland, this really means "buyer beware" you MUST see the pups with the mother, don't take any excuse, i.e. the pups are seperated from the mum as she is not feeding them, or the mum is out for a walk, or as one of the "breeders" does she brings a puppy to her gate and says this is the puppy..

Irene can you confirm if Whippets are amongst the multiply breeds being advertised by these people. The whippet people would not stand for it if this is the case. Although whippets have become a big breed in the Hound group it is still fairly close knit and evreyone knows everyone!!

Sorry Irene, didn't even think that this might be the case as it was only a personal advert for only whippet pups or I wouldn't even have suggested this!
