Anyone know where I can get modern designs? All the ones I've come across in shops I could have knitted for my own children over 30 years ago - and my daughter just doesn't 'do' lacey.
Let's you look inside some books. Debbie Bliss, Rowan and Miss Bea's books all have patterns for little ones. Wool is expensive though - I have a nice one that I bought from Hobbycraft - it is for organic natural wools and cottons but I am substituting yarns ( just test tension)
It's called Natural knits for babies and mum by Louisa Harding. I have done a nice little cross over jacket that looks a better fit then the Jaeger one I knitted for my granddaughter when she was small. Don't know what it is like on because this next grandson hasn't actually arrived yet. He was due last mon and we are all waiting and hoping the snow won't prevent the midwife getting to her!!!!!
Good idea that - never thought to look on e-bay. I searched for the American yarns in the book I mentioned and found several places selling them in this country.
