We moved to Northern Cyprus 4 years ago with our Jack Russell.  We have gained another Cyprus terrier who is amazing.  They are both up to date with rabies etc.  Because the North of Cyprus has not been allowed into the eu at present although the south have, and it is one island with no rabies we have to take the dogs back to uk and go into quarantine, which is a nonsense!.  We have been told but are having problems finding out, that if you can get the dogs to France or Germany there they will have to have a blood test and stay with you for three months.  We are looking into this with ernest.  We would probably rent for three months in France a little gite.  But no one seems to know if this is fact or fiction.  Unfortunately I have very little Fremnch so cannot find a website in English.  Defra are treating us the same as us living in Turkey.  Some ex pats must have done the same, someone please help us, we cannot leave them here.

If DEFRA have the final say then you are facing quaratine. Northern Cyprus IS Turkey owned and no amount of challenging will change that I'm afraid. I think you have to go with whatever DEFRA says! The only way round would be to lie? Does it say in the Pet Passport which Country you've been in? I think trying to get around the rules will only ever end in tears! Maybe someone clever will think of a legal way around? Best of luck, Dawn

You could take them to an EU country - but they would have to stay for six months, not three - after a rabies blood test.

Im sure if you contact the lady who runs this http://www.importingapup.info/ she will be able to answer all your questions fully. She is english, living in France and has alot of experience with dealing with imports from all over the place.

Goodluck!
