Hubby and I are going (without the children yeee!) to the Lake District for 3 days in February with 2 terriers for some fresh air and exercise.  We would like to stay in a b&b in/near Windermere (within 15 minutes drive).  Can anyone recommend one?  Priorities are doggy-friendly, in a pub if poss for the beer and food!, friendly and not flash (we're thinking cosy pub not posh hotel) and cheap as poss!...

Any ideas anyone? x

OH and myself went a few years ago, and can't for the life of me remember the name of the place we stayed in!!!!! That's age for you :) I will ask Oh to see if he can remember which one it was. We ended up actually staying in a little aparment attached to the side of the B&B and went in for dinner & drinks, dogs by the log fire cosy and warm idylic, now if only I can remember it's name!!

That sounds like just the place!  I'm sure most doggy folk just know exactly the sort of place we are hoping for!...

There was a hotel called the greys walls in windermere they used to let us have 3 newfies in the rooms with us and they have a lovely bar area were the dogs can go too , i know  it changed hands but we did go not long after that , you could try there.
