Does anyone on here show Boxers or SBTs and know anything about showing them?  They are my other KC females as well and having looked at the breed standard they seem to have no major faults at all, but never thought of showing them.  I didn't realise how much I wanted to get into showing until it's been brought to my attention that I can't show my Irish girl, and I have two perfectly nice bull breeds sitting next to my Irish which I guess I could show.  I guess I just don't think of them as 'pretty' dogs like my Irish so not sure how they fare in shows.  Not something I've looked into!
My SBT is red and white and is just over a year old, and my boxer female is like a chestnut red with a black face and a white blaze and is 4 months old.  No bite problems with my SBT and the Boxer has typical underbite.  Are there other obvious major faults that even I could look for before I even look at going to a ringcraft class?  Save me any more possible heartache which I've already had over my Irish?

All dogs have faults the perfect dog is not in existance. Perhaps you should visit the breeder with your irish and ask her advice. You appear to have quite a few breeds all will have their own issues.Showing is enjoyable but it isnt the end of the world if you cannot show the dog, you still have a beautiful pet.

Just out of interest, can I ask how or why you have 3 different breeds of 1yr/5months/4months. Each of them must take up a lot of time training and socialising.

Showing Staffords.
As you're in Essex I believe, you could go to South East Essex S.B.T Ringcraft Club.  Tel 01702 389218
Held at:
Steepleview Community Centre
Williowfields, Laindon, Essex

The details are actually here on Champdogs.

I would say try and find a local ringcraft class to go to, us as owners are very biased towards our dogs, and we all think our dogs are beautiful!!, but go to a ringcraft have fun with your dog, and if you do well at shows great! if not it is still nice to go and enjoy spending the day with your dogs, you will meet new people form great friendships and have lots of fun!!! There you will meet people within the brred that your showing and get some great hints and tips.

Good Luck

the setter is mine and the SBT/Boxers are my boyfriend's dogs.  Takes a lot of time but we have no other vices, we don't smoke, drink, seldom go out, so they are our social life!  That and I can't have children so they are what I have instead :-)

Essex & Eastern Boxer Club have monthly matches in similar area to Laindon,I am not sure of the current venue but you should find a website for them. If not go to British Boxer Club and they have a link to the other breed clubs. Young puppies are welcome to attend.
