You guys are so helpful with advice I wonder if you could give me more. Our pom/chi how is great fun and healthy has acouple of little problems or at least annoyances to the humans she lives with . the main one now being BARKING. I think she can hear ablade of grass move at a mile away. I have tried a stern NO form the beginning, water spray ,that works tempoarily if you can creep up on her and she doesnt see you coming or she is off across the room and under the nearest object !. If we are out ,picking her up usuall works but I dont like doing this as I am determined that she is to be a dog not a handbad accessory. She is freindly when spoken to by dogs and people and not concerned at meeting dogs or people once they come colse to her. Its at adistance 3ft or more that makes her bark. She was and is well socialised from the begining (12wks) not sure about what she met at the home of the owner of her parents but they had young children and animals and she was born and lived in their house  Shegoes to the local school playround to meet a friends child twice a week , lives with and walks with our GSD   but still barks at the slightest thing. In the car if she happens to be able to see out of a window constantly growls and bark. Any ideas particulaly from other chi or pom owners/breeders. Thanks

Well the usual advice I always hear is actually to teach her to bark on command (clicker and treat method) then the unwanted barking should diminish, I have Papillons which are also a barky breed and I have had only limited success, they all will bark at the door knock which I think is acceptable but they know full well when I am at the door signing for a parcel I cant get to them quickly to stop them barking so they will carry on barking until I get back in the room with them, can be a bit annoying and more than deafening :-(
