Good grief! When I started at school at the age of 5 there were 50 children in the classroom! I thought it was normal to have 1 teacher and a 'teacher's helper'!

My daughter is studying Cache childcare in education, she tells me in 3/4 years olds in early years foundation stage (their curriculum) the ratio is 1:6

when I was working in nurseries and children's work it was 1:8 but in the toddlers it was a much lower ratio 1:4 or 1:3
