Can anyone tell me how long it would take to drive from Wadebridge to Lands End , St.Ives , Port Isaac and Mevagissey in the Summer holidays .
We are planning on going but don't know if Wadebridge is far enough South to easily visit these places , would Redruth area be better ?
Thanks in advance .

Probably better off in the newquay/summercourt area. Not necessarily in the town of newquay because it can be chaos in the summer. Everywhere you mentioned is about an hour from the area and wadebridge is quite a long way from all of them.

yeh you are along way off in wadebridge....i would say truro area is a good base for getting to all parts of cornwall at that end.
truro to newquay approx 10mile.
truro to falmouth approx 10mile.
truro to mevagissy and st austell approx 15 to 18miles. HTH

You lucky thing, Cornwall is my most favourite place!

Wadebridge to Port Isaac takes about 15-20 minutes, even in summer (although not in school holidays). I know, we do it most years! It's no distance at all. Lands End and St Ives are in the opposite direction, and further, and in the school holidays I'd allow an hour to get to either of them.
Thanks .
I REALLY hate looking for holiday lets as there are so many !!!

Do you mean Playing Place? You can get all the info regarding beaches from the Cornwall Tourist info board. Its lovely here we're in Fowey. As Starry Eyes says make sure you have parking its a rare thing in Cornish towns.

If you google dog friendly beaches in cornwall it brings up several sites. Par is my favourite (between st.austell and fowey) we are there regularly, and in march it is pretty quiet. There arent really any beaches in the immediate truro area, and not many dog safe open spaces, depending on where you stay. Where abouts are you staying?

Crantock is another dog friendly beach, about 12 miles from Truro, near Newquay, although traffic can be heavy in summer.

Yes sorry Playing Place, that will teach me to try to give directions to the football pitch and try to post at the same time.
Yes have rented a bungalow and have parking for 4 cars it appears from the info.
Thank you all for the information I will look up the beaches you speak of.
The road between Bodmin and Indian Queens (close to Newquay) can be an absolute nightmare in the summer, literally bumper to bumaper, and best avoided on holiday let changeover days.
