Im looking to buy dog chews in bulk, does anyone know who has the best price?

Do you have a
Batleys near you? They're the cheapest for everything pet related. It's supposed to be for pet food retailers only but they also give accounts to people who own kennels etc so I said I was a kennels. They'll give you a day pass to try it out. You do have to spend £100 cash at a time in the pet bit but if you have several dogs and/or other pets you'll find this easy enough :-)
Im looking for somewhere more local, i live in Verwood Dorset. Can anyone help please.
Yes i have tried ebay. I put in bulk buy & it came up with one seller 1000 sticks for £60 thats 6p each plus postage extra. I can go to my local pet shop & buy them for 6p each, so thats no good.
I have been told their is an animal food wholesaler in Fordingbridge, Alderholt or somewhere near by, i cannt remember who told me now so i cannt ask them again. Does anyone know on here?

Your welcome :-)
The doggy snack shack has a good price for small rawhide twists, with postage they work out at 5p each. Does anyone know any where else like this but doesnt charge £7 for postage for one item. You have been very helpful so far. :)

Doggysnackshack - Is this not the chap who had a 'problem' with his card machine, resulting in people being charged twice for their purchases? I have had a quick look but can't find the thread, hopefully someone else may remember a bit more.

OMG when did that happen Goldiemad? I bought from him a couple of times in the past without a problem, I had no idea there had been, he seems to be at every dog show I go to, did a lot of people lose money or something?

Have you checked Zooplus, they have beef rawhide chews (diameter 7 - 8 mm) on offer at the moment, with their 4 x 100 piece value pack costing £16.00. If you spend over £29 P&P is free.

Hi Papillon, I don't want to say too much as I am not 100% sure this was the guy, so am hoping someone else can remember. It was serious though and details were published in the dog press. I'll do a bit more searching and see if I can find the old thread.

I hope someone does know the details about it, maybe I'll hold off buying from him again online until I know for sure, I will say when he has his stall at dog shows there are some bargains to be had when you bulk buy, perhaps I'll just buy at the shows in the future.

Thanks for that Abbeypap, I was beginning to think I had dreamt it as I couldn't find anything. Know what you mean about the smell, but it's the chicken feet that give me the shivers!!

Even reading this post brings back the smell Yeuck

Have read it, thanks for that Joan, the stall does pong but my lot love the pigs ears he sells so I end up buying a load of those from him, will only pay in cash in future in case his machine goes haywire again.

He is always busy at the shows, and the number of people you see wandering around with huge bags of hooves, ears and other bits and pieces shows that he does have what people are looking for. Afraid I buy mine nicely packaged at the local animal feed farm.
I know a couple of people who were charged twice at that time and they got a refund no problem.
What shows does he attend? I want to save my self the postage.

Mine also love the honeyed snouts that he does, mind you I usually make mine eat the ears and snouts in the garden or they make the carpet smell of them and seeing as its so cold here I cant make them stay out there so they have to be content with hide chews indoors for the moment, roll on the milder weather they say lol.
Does he attend any shows in the south western area?
I know its not until the summer, but does he go to the New Forest Show? Anyone know?

He may well be there, he generally does all the big champ shows, best thing to do is phone or e.mail him to make sure, he seems to take a day to write back but he does always write back in the end.
Yvonne.
Happened to me (got charged twice) but andrew gave a refund no problem , the dogs love all the yucky stuff he sells and his prices are pretty reasonable .
NEWFIENOOK whats your dogs favorite yuccy stuff. :)

My Paps love the really stinky pigs ears and the foul smelling tripe sticks, when the weather is warmer they have to eat both out in the garden, I will suffer the sometimes gaseous side effects of their beloved treats in here but dont want the smell ground into my carpets by having them eat the stuff indoors, I really must love them dearly because the smell is "orrible!"
> I know its not until the summer, but does he go to the New Forest Show? Anyone know?
He was certainly there last year - we bought our dogs "Whoopee, Reserve Best Dog"and "Poor boy, stuck at home with Grandma" treats!!
Oh just noticed you said New Forest Show - my brain is a bit foggy this morning - he was at Bournemouth Champ Show in August which is held at the same site :)

They really pong if you take a deep smell in the packet of them like I did once - never again!
