frozen dog poo

I pick up in the garden as son as it's deposited, in this weather it's especially important as it freezes on impact - top temp today was -2° :-)
But last night one of the dogs did a 'special' after I thought they'd finished, so I missed it. Early this morning I tried to pick it up, no chance it was frozen solid. Not wanting it to remain I whacked it with the back of a hand brush and it shot across the patio like an Ice Hockey Puck! Couldn't stand up for laughing, had to sit on my frozen bench :-D
Just thought I'd share with those who'd understand why I'm still cracking up at the thought of it, I'm sure the neighbours think I've lost the plot. ;)
Anyone for hockey? :-D

Haha, with a hocky poop? My boy's poop was stuck to the decking, lovely!

LOL - well I was cursing it this morning when my young gundog proudly brought back something to me on the morning walk. She has retrieved a variety of things (apart from game on a shoot), including several dead frogs, several field mice and a rabbit's leg. This morning I took what looked like a short, knarled stick which upon closer inspection turned out to be .....frozen dog poo........ :-o
> Anyone for hockey?
LOL, this made me laugh, just this morning I was going round the garden with my husbands hammer (haven't told him yet)

I'm normally clean the garden every day but my lungs have been coughed raw the last few days and I've been trying to stay warm inside. With 5 dogs I was out there a good 20 minutes, whacking away. The things we do for love :)

see, i prefer a frozen poop- much less potential mess in the scoop.

LOL! I love these stories, only a dog lover... :-D

LOL @ hubby's hammer. Your secret is safe here. Wait and see, he'll use it on something and you'll have a fit of giggles ;-)
Much prefer frozen to warm.
I went for a cleanup this afternoon, one bit was frozen solid to the ground so I gave it a bit of extra leverage and... sailed it clean over my sons head!! He was horrified at the thought I'd only just missed him as he bent down to pick some ice off the ground. May have been difficult to explain a black eye gained in this way don't you think !! :)

Another funny story - my sister has a 6 mth old Leonberger puppy. The pup came proudly trotting up the garden with something in her mouth which my mum went to take off her...luckily she stopped before getting out of her mouth as she was carrying a big frozen poo!! lol!!!

I sometimes wash the odd cav one down the outside drain but the watering can with disinfectant was frozen solid.
So little frozen twig had to wait.
I am loving the frozen poos! Pick them up in the morning after a night in the frost... like picking up rocks! No smell, no warm feeling in your hand (through the bag of course) suits me!!

Love the hammer idea and may just have to try it if things carry on. Can't help thinking that it's going to be a bit awkward tho when I have to explain why I damaged the patio with a hammer, think I'll just stick to the back of the handbrush for now lol LOL

LOL, poor boy will be traumatised for life, lol. Better start saving for his therapy sessions :-D :-D
I like early morning walks and when you pick up the pooh its still warm so you know its your dogs - sad or what.
On ice subject Jake only drinks his water outside, Whistler inside, it took about half and hour to get the frozen water out of Jake's bowl so I could put new water in for when he had his tea outside. They get feed inside and out and its so habitual that Jake will not eat inside the house at all now!!

I have what I think could possibly be the best frozen poo collection system going.
It's called an ISLA.
8 months old beautiful to look at and can spot a frozen turd at 60 paces, even wearing 4 wheel drive wellies with traction control I am unable to catch the beast before she consumes this lovely lolly !!!!
This is not really funny but,,, we have an employee who is accident prone I swear I have an accident book at work dedicated to W. Anyway after xmas dinner he took his two children for a play in the local park they are 5 & 7. Playing tag he decided to be clever jump over a seat and a small fence to get away. He was ok one foot on the seat but caught foot two on the fence and dived head first into some dog pooh.
He is still off work today with a ricked shoulder, cut leg and scratched face that has been slow to heal because of you know what. Im thinking of employing his 7 year old son!! I have known W since he was born, I used to take him for walks in his pram and change his nappies, he was accident prone as a toddler but it was funny when he told us??? It was the dog pooh going into orbit that did it..
