hi All
my dog is due for a worming very shortly. What are the best makes to consider ? i would like one that is he is not going to spit out, so preferably palatable, and also covers lungworm as well as the run of the mill worms if possible.

Cheers peeps

Hi Ziggar

If you speak to your vets, they should be able to provide you with the most appropriate wormer. They come in powder form aswell, so can be put in their dinner.

Panacur comes in a granule formula which pretty much disappears into wet food, and it covers more than Drontal, I believe.

Panacur comes in liquid, paste and granular forms and does cover lungworms which drontal does not.

I personally worm once with Panacur 10% then Drontal Plus the next time and so on, that way I get a good intestineal wormer and Lungworms sorted twice a year.

Hi, I use Stronghold routinely now, for worming/fleas etc, then use Panacur 10% when a bitch is due to be mated, and after the pups are being weaned. I use Panacur on the pups too.

Welcome to the forum Ziggar :-)

I don't know if you buy your wormers online, but I ordered a lot of panacur from Beeston Animal Health at 4.30pm yesterday and they arrived at 7.30am this morning. :-)

If you have a lot of dog then the Panacur Sheep and Cattle 10% version in litre bottles is the same as the small bottles of dog wormer - this works out much cheaper.

You can also buy it as half litre, last time I bought it from Canine Chemist it was £40 for 500ml, with a dosage sheet for dogs and cats sent with it!
