I wrote before on the diffeculty of being a Mum when the first heart break arrives. My eldest Ben had broken up with Helen after three years. we thought briefly, that they had patched it up as they decided to try again. Last night (from what I can gather about midnight) they had the final row. She appartently told him that it felt like kissing her Dad when she kissed him, so he chucked her out of bed (not physically I add) and she went home to the flat for good.
So I have a big, sad son around. He has really tried v. hard to change and has come down to the conclusion that she really does not want "him" anymore.
I know its not a big thing when I read of Rugby dying and others much more serious problems, but it does hurt when your kids hurt, almost as much as if it was me going through it all again.
Im glad I have this space to air my views, concerns and get advice.
On a slightly different note I have just dropped Whistler off to the groomers and I have fallen in love with an American Cocker. Lot less complicated than kids dogs are, and no one has to change a thing.
Merry Christmas you lot....

There is nothing more comforting than having your parents there for you when something like this happens. My parents live in Australia and although they are physically hundreds of miles away I know in reality they are just a phone call away. You boy is lucky to have you there for him- break ups are awful- but at least he has his Mum to share some of the sadness with until things get better. Poor boy, people can be so cruel. I hope he starts to feel happier very soon.

What a nasty thing to say!!! He wont think it now, but he sounds better off without her!
And whats more, how nice that you are there for him and he has someone to talk to, a mums support is one of the nicest things you can have and he is very lucky in that sense :-D

well she sounds like a right cow.

don't worry, your boy will get over it and learn to appreciate the education he'll have had from the experience. never seems it at the time though.

i'd suggest tasty food (i feel this helps with many issues in life) and give him space unless he wants to talk.

he'll meet a nice girl soon :)

Funnily enough he and I went out to lunch at Port Solent yesterday just a Weatherspoons. Then a walk along by the boats, a quick shop at Whitely. My OH had cooked stewing steak with loads of veggies in the slo cooker with some lovely roast spuds and he did seem brighter. The only way to a mans heart is through his stomach!! He's lost 2.5 stone what with being a misery and a cold so I am pleased he may start putting it on again. Thanks you lot most appreciated.

I always told my daughter "You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you'll find your prince"  (not when she'd just broken up tho ;) )

sounds like the girlfriend was a real FROG!

He will recover with your tender care and will at least know to keep away from her 'type' in the future ;)
