just a moan about a young golden retriever who stole my dogs ball yesterday. i stood quietly for 10 mins while she and 2 othes tried in vain to get the ball back and i was amazed how it completely ignored the owner. she kept using a clicker and god knows why because it not only ignored it but wasnt being good to deserve it either! eventually one of the people grabbed the collar as it ran by and they gave it back, thanks i said trying not to sound stroppy and no one even said sorry! i was then fuming. what really irks me is this woman came to the park when pup was really small and wouldnt let it off for a moment. i remember saying, cant you let it off and she said no and i said at this age they usually cling to your legs and wont go far, its when they get older they dont come back, well she smiled smugly and wouldnt let it off lead and i remember thinking that woman will never have a good recall on that dog and i was right! god i hate being right all the time! but joking aside, if i wanted my dog to come and it ignored me i would run away and then crouch on the floor and hide my face- they soon run up to see what the hell is going on but his woman had no clue. i also think she had no treats with her and certainly didnt try luring with treats, no wonder it wont come back, i always have good shop bought treats and also cheese for emergency recalls. rant over, glad to get that off my chest
