Hi i have three Mini Schnauzers and i am thinking about changing there foods.

One of my girls is on Wainwrights Salmon and Potato at the moment which she seems to like but her anal glands seemed to only empty themselves so i am hoping to fine a food to firm her poops up to see if that helps.

Another of my girls is a bit fussy and went off the wainwright and now is on Royal Canin mini adult and she seems to like it and the smaller pieces.

My last girl is only 6 months and on Royal Canin mini junior and does well on that.

I would prefer to put the older two on the same food if i could and then my younger girl could go on that when i change her to adult food later on.

I have been looking at Berriewoods and there Arden Grange seems a really good price and i have heard a few good reviews about it.

Has anyone got any comments on Arden Grange?
What sort of size are the food pieces?
Do your dogs have firm poops on it?
Also do your dogs have a favourite flavour?

I was wondering about trying the lamb flavour which there is a mini version of with smaller pieces but my dogs haven't had a lamb flavour food before.

I am also wondering whether to change my younger girl onto the Arden Grange junior food now?

Sorry to ramble on but i would like to find a good food for my dogs.

I have Giant Schnauzers and can highly recommend feeding Arden Grange.
Favorite flavour seems to be lamb and rice and  the stools are nice and firm (if they haven't managed to raid the kitchen)
The size is suitable for minis too.

I always use AG its good food, lamb and rice for mine too.
Nice firm stools and reasonable price.
You can contact AG and they will send you some samples if that helps.

Hi Sarah, I use Arden Grange for my 3 dogs (an Alaskan Mal, Cavalier KCS & Samoyed). I couldn't recommend it more - the dogs absolutely love it, they were on Royal Canin before which they didn't really care much for, but now they get so excited when its feeding time.

Ive only ever tried the lamb & rice adult variety as Ive been pleased with the results and haven't needed to change. The food pieces are small in size and ideal for my Cavalier, so I should think it would suit your Mini Schnauzers just fine.

My girls always have small, firm poos and this is important for me too as Cavaliers are prone to anal gland problems but my girl has had no problems since being on AG.

Another thing about AG is the customer service is excellent if you ever have any queries. (And no I dont work for AG, I'm just a very satisfied customer!!)

I only use ag as a back up as i usually feed raw,however I know many gsd owners who really like it.  It is small enough for my pomXchi so you should be fine.Currently using cat AG ( for the cats!) and they love it. Also our waitrose is selling 2.5kg at a good price strange I know but I am taking advantage of it.

I have two mini schnauzers (one is 6 yrs and the other almost 2).  They are both on Nutrochoice (lamb&rice).  They have both always been incredibly healthy and look really well.  Whilst I am totally happy with this food and would recommend it, it costs £42 for a 15kg sack (It hink AG is anything between £25-£30 for the same quantity).

I am considering changing to AG, purely on  cost basis, as it too has an excellent reputation.  What do other dog owners think about this plan??

I have mine on AG, it suits them all.  Give it a try.

My Papillon's are on AG and have done very well on it but I am thinking of putting them of Origen because the ingriedients are even better but it is more pricy :-(  but I do think AG is a very good food so would recommend it.
