Can anybody suggest a good coat for two more mature ladies.

Both 10 years, one a GR and one a BC. We're off to Cornwall for the two weeks over Xmas, staying in a lovely cottage and as it's not the dry season down there :(  I want something that's more to protect the cottage from shaking dogs when we arrive back from our rain swept walks and gives me chance to grab the drying towels for rub down.

I use towelling dog coats, put them on the dogs as soon as we get home then if they shake the mud and water doesnt go everywhere look here http://www.overhill.co.uk/shop/jackets/index.htm

if it is waterproof jackets you want then country mun are quite good (they also do towelling jackets.)  http://www.countrymun.com/general/dog-coats

Hi Starryeyes

I'll view there also, it is actually just to keep them dry rather than warm, I'm bothered that when we arrive back at the cottage, the wet waggy tail marks and soggy bodies will cause havoc with the decor :(

great waterproof coats, cheap and not lined, i got for my dogs just to keep them dry not extra warmth and yours wont need warmth as they have thick coats

PAH often have dog coats - i bought just a kagool type for my terrier so theres no warmth but its waterproof. yopu could always put a 'human' t shirt (snug fitting) on them first so there fur underneath doesnt get splashed.

Have you considered a trouser suit like this and just remove it when you get home?  They're easier to wash and dry than the dog! :)
