- By rachelsetters Date 06.12.08 14:48 UTC
just watched it - ???? not sure about it???
- By Isabel Date 06.12.08 15:01 UTC
If it makes someone pity the poor creatures and pick up the phone then great.  I am sure no dogs were harmed in the making of it :-)  Bit disturbing to consider that they may considered this more effective than pitiful stories about humans though.

I didn't like it, do people really use dogs to smuggle drugs in like this? I have never herd of it before.
- By magica [gb] Date 06.12.08 15:57 UTC
I've seen some of it and apparently it was thought up by teenagers to think about taking cocaine and its implications.
Tugging on the heart strings of young pet lovers out there.

Yes they have used dogs as drug mules a few years ago about 5 pedigree dogs forgot what breed- where opened up and put something into them! Not sure they all survived.

They use people so I am sure they would not hesitate to use dogs.

truely disturbingly (and don't read on if of a delicate constitution)

seriously its really grim and disturbing

some drug barrons get women smugglers to take babies who have died on flights where the poor things are filled with drugs. an apparently sleeping baby draws no attention :( truely truely horrendous

I heard on the radio that complaints have been made.
- By theemx [gb] Date 06.12.08 17:30 UTC
IM not sure on the effectiveness....

I found it quite hard hitting and the sarcastic narrative given by 'pablo' lifts it slightly from the usual 'drugs are bad mmkay' angle that i find most young people who are likely to take drugs, tend to gloss over with 'yeah yeah but it wont happen to me'.

Not saying they wont do that with this.. but i think it will get them watching for that bit longer.

Undoubtedly loads of people will complain, theres some comments on youtube about this giving people ideas about how to smuggle drugs inside a dog... which is a tad naive i feel... be a shame if this works, to pull it because of complaints like taht.

On what basis?  Too disturbing?
I think you sometimes have to make that sort of impact.  It is not as if they are using a shocking image to sell something trivial.

I think it could be a step towards drugs looking uncool.
- By theemx [gb] Date 06.12.08 17:49 UTC
I do hope so - certainly where cocaine is concerned theres a huge amount of 'cool' involved with it, the scene, the people..

Can it override the human ability to think 'it wont happen to me'. Dunno, but its worth a try!

Its not really challenging that aspect though but rather goes to the angle of bringing suffering to someone or something else other than yourself.

i havent seen the ad so have no idea what its about or what its for, but in answer to the person who asked about dogs being used to smuggle drugs...then yes im afraid its true and I have reason to believe its happened in my breed a few years ago from the details i was supplied with at the time :( :(

Yes and  other animals and children too. I have a friend who works for customs the stories are shameful.

true, it works far better. the seat belt ad with the guy in the back killing the driver got me- now i make my seatbelt hating bf wear one.

there will of course always be those that go 'yeah yeah yeah...' but if it reaches 1 or 2 people even thats a good start.

not seen this ad either but heard things about it, and not being a drug smuggler either :) not sure how its done but i imagine that your breeds skin folds 9and mine to i guess) would make them perfect- easy to hide scars and lumps :(
