Hello everyone, does anybody know of any ringcraft classes in cumbria?  A quick internet search hasn't proved very useful.

Well, I'm based near Cockermouth but could probably make it to anywhere up to 1 hour away.

Hi well the ringcraft class I attend is held in St Mary's church rooms Harrington  at 7.00pm - 8.30pm on a Monday evening. You will be made welcome if you just come along on the night. 

Thanks Gillian,  I am new to showing and this is my first dog too.  A slightly over-enthusiastic 5 month old large breed pup!  I don't know if she will go very far with showing but feel she will benefit from the training and having to work around other dogs.  Would be nice to get to know some like-minded people in the area too.  Do I need to know/bring anything inparticular?  She is used to just a normal flat collar, am I ok to train in this initially?

A normal flat collar and lead will be fine to start off with.  You may wish to look into what kind of lead and collar is commonly used to show your breed on in the future. The only other thing to remember to bring are some tasty treats that your girl likes. There is a wide mix of breeds that attend and everyone is friendly and helpful. The only other thing is that next Monday will be the last training night before Christmas though as the week after is our class fun night but you will be welcome to attend anyway.

That sounds great, will do my best to be there next week and fun-night sounds like great fun too!
