- By Romside [gb] Date 23.11.08 10:26 UTC
i am looking for a yorkie stud but need him to be really small.5lb or under ive found one lady who has everything im looking for but wants me to leave my bitch with her for her whole season.to me (forgive me) but this is ridiculous! im not leaving my bitch with her from the first day of her season until shes finished.at all.she wants me to leave maggie for 3 weeks so her lad can get used to her!!!
obviously ive decided this lady has no idea what so ever and have decided id sooner go without a stud for my little girl.
i want to keep her pups and i know ill be lucky to get more than one.im not breeding her for money ect ect shes healthy and all up to date with jabs.i just cannot find someone with a small enough lad who knows what theyre talking about.just thought someone on here may know of a stud service at all
thanx guys.x.x.x

Your breed club would be your best source of information. :-)

you said "i also have a teeny tiny yorkie id like to show her too.we'll see.(not for breeding)"

Is this the same bitch and how did you get on showing her?  Did other exhibitors say that she is the right size for mating?
- By marguerite [gb] Date 23.11.08 11:25 UTC
What weight is your bitch? if she is very small I would forget about breeding her, my friend has a very small bitch and wanted to breed her, so I took her to see a friend of mine who has bred yrokies (and shown them) for quite a long time, they took one look at her bitch and told her she is too small,  she would probably need a c.section or, worse die,  my friend took their advice and got her spayed.  I too would advise going to the breed club, or to a show and talk to some yorkie people, as far as I know they are not the easiest of breeds to welp.

ok guys i can see whats happened here lol i apologise no i wouldnt breed from this little girl no.this bitch actually belongs to my nan.i want a pup from her boy or girl and its not even important.i just thought i could ask on here seeing as past help has been very helpful thats all. and ive put that the bitch is called maggie when she isnt.its me maggie is my yorkie.lilly is my nans yorkie
hey long night last night ok.lol lilly is a small yorkie bout the same size as a chihuaha

If it is as you say why not buy a pup in. Save the hassle and save any risk to the little one. your Nan's much be very small also that you require a stud so small.. that is not really the smartest move for your bitch ( or your Nans) or your reputation as I remember you said you had problems with the breed people before in your other breed.  Your Nan would be devastated if you put her tiny bitch in harms way all for a puppy you could easily buy it.

You have confused us a bit with the

i am looking for a yorkie
ive found one lady
im not leaving my bitch with her
obviously ive decided this lady
i want to keep her pups and i know ill be lucky to get more than one.im not breeding her for money ect

No disrespect but that's a mighty amount if "I" s for a bitch that is not yours.

LOL@ Blue :)...but tamara dont you also breed rotties and cockers and yorkies? Surely with all those breeds you must have heaps of experience in finding stud dogs ?
- By newfiedreams Date 23.11.08 19:45 UTC
I breed Yorkies and if I had a bitch the size of a chihuaha I WOULD NOT be breeding from her! It doesn't really matter what size the stud is, she's gonna have tremendous problems delivering a litter if she's that size...unless the chihuahas you know resemble a giant chi!, the same way that I get asked if the dogs I've got are TOY yorkies! (as oppossed to all the Yorkie/Cairn crosses got from the lovely local puppy farmers!) I've given up explaining that according to the KC there is NO such thing as a Toy Yorkie!

Bitches, according to breed standard shoudl be upto 7lbs, males are generally smaller anyways, BUT the bitches need to be that size to deliver safely.  If you breed her you may well kill her...you have been warned!

Tamara, please don't breed from a bitch so small.  I breed both Yorkies and Chi's, and can tell you that I prefer a bitch to weigh 6lbs.  Both my Yorkie and Chi stud boys are tiny, but I always refuse stud service when approached by people with tiny females.  Ok, I know they go elsewhere, and find a dog anyway, but I don't have it on my conscience.  I used an outside stud recently, and noticed that this small show kennel also has larger breeding bitches.  I don't think it is sensible for you to breed from such a small girl.

Tamara I've just read through this thread and it looks as if you have some very good advice about the size of lily and the advisability of breeding from her.  Surely it's best to have knowledgeable advice from people who have experience rather than risking the health of your dog.

In order to give you the most appropriate help many people will have a quick look at your previous posts to see if there is any other useful or relevant information.  I suspect this is where the information about Rotties came from for instance.  They will also take at face value the information you write in your posts.  I'm sure you can see where some of the confusion has arisen particularly as you've mentioned your tiny tiny Yorkie before.  There is a big difference between researching for your own bitch and researching for someone else.  Of course you use the word I in both cases but if you had made it clear that it wasn't your own bitch you may have had some different responses not least of which is that your Nan would be taking a big gamble with Lily's health.  Also, as you yourself know with your own rottie, raising puppies and finding homes is a difficult business - although I'm sure you'd help her.

My personal view - I don't breed, don't have bitches, and the advice and feedback that I read on CD that reminds me over and over again how difficult and emotionally demanding it can be.  Why your Nan would want to go through that, or why anyone puts themself through that, when they aren't thinking of keeping a puppy is surprising.  I would imagine you stand a better chance of getting a strong healthy puppy from a reputable breeder who will be mating health tested, show quality, dogs to produce one for themselves.  You may have to wait a while but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait - good luck :)

Well done for taking the advice not to breed from your little bitch.  Would have hated to hear if you had bred from her and had problems welping etc later on.
- By sam Date 24.11.08 15:46 UTC
possibly from the website you give as yours, and its link to epupz in the same name that says:

Breeder of    Rottweiler   Yorkshire Terrier   Cocker Spaniel
we breed for type and temprement.show quality is a bonus but not everything to us.

:)  Some people just extract the urine!
- By newfiedreams Date 24.11.08 19:38 UTC
NO!! Surely not Sam?? Must be someone elses website!? ;-)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 24.11.08 19:38 UTC
The given website doesn't work for me. Has it been changed?
- By WestCoast Date 24.11.08 19:47 UTC
Search for Rotties in Essex on THAT site!  It's the first affix that'll come up. :(
- By lincolnimp [gb] Date 24.11.08 20:00 UTC
Am I missing something here - or being particularly stupid?  :(

This is the same person who had an accidental litter, but did her very best for them, and now is a breeder of three different breeds, and has a KC affix????? ;)
- By WestCoast Date 24.11.08 20:10 UTC
It would appear so, unless there is another reason.  Maybe Tamara will come back and explain.
- By newfiedreams Date 24.11.08 20:19 UTC
I doubt it...like all people that tell stories your sins will find you out! :-(
- By AliceC Date 24.11.08 20:21 UTC
LOL at WestCoast - it took me ages to work out what you meant there ;-)

Just found the details on that website and it states breeder of Cocker Spaniels, Rotties and Yorkies. Maybe the Cockers belong to someone else too....

Before I even looked at this thread, I could 'guess' which 'parties' would be involved.

>I doubt it...like all people that tell stories your sins will find you out!

"Sins"?

Since when has it been a sin to ask for advice and help on a forum intended for that purpose.

Tamara came here for help and advice. She came here because she knows that the majority of the membership are experienced and very helpful and she wanted your HELP. Yet again a witch hunt has ensued and you wonder why people never return!

I have received several emails from this member and they are deeply upset at the way this thread has been turned around to make them look stupid (their words) and to make their query appear to be something that it is not.  They own ROTTWEILERS and have bred one litter - FACT. They own ONE yorkie and no, it will never be bred from - FACT. They have never owned or bred cocker spaniels - FACT. The reference on another site that says they do is incorrect and they are in the process of getting it amended - FACT.

Tamara's grandmother owns a yorkie - FACT.

If she wants to breed from that dog, then that is her business. If she wants to ask for help and advice on this forum shall we offer that help and advice or shall we just errect the gallows now and be done? The hounding has to stop folks.

To those of you who took the trouble to help Tamara, I thank you.
