Ok, a brief history -
Thursay Buster developed the 'runs' - his pooh became progressively runnier throughout the day (he went 4 times instead of his usual 2), his last poo was projectile yellowish water, so his last meal of the day was bioled white rice with white fish (instead of his normal tripe & complete buscuit).
I am thinking that he has eaten something that upset him - either something he's snaffled off the floor while out on a walk (he is like a truffle-hunting pig!) or I gave him a little bit of left-over cooked pork Wed evening, he doesn't normally suffer with reactions to food, but he rarely gets anything other than veg or chicken in addition to his noraml diet - I fear the pork was too rich :(
Fri - he had a morning and eveing small meal of rice & fish, midday he did a loose, semi-formed stool, much more normal colour (I was very pleased with that progress - isn't odd how dog poop can become so important!).
Sat - no poop, 2 small meals of rice & fish
Sun (today) No poop again, small morning meal of rice & fish, eveing meal of 70% rice & fish 30% tripe & buscuit (approx same size meal as normal).
He hasn't been trying to go to pooh, not even sniffing in his favourite 'pooh-patch' in the garden, he seems fine in himself, he has NOT lost is appetite, but he does have a bit of smelly wind (sorry for the graphic description here, but it smells like he could do with a pooh and it smells like it would be a normal pooh - sorry again).
I'm reluctant to add anything to his meals other than water, for fear of upsetting his stomach, I will wean his usual food back in over the next few days (I don't like suddenly switching foods) but how long is it OK for a dog to not pooh before you need to see a vet?
If it was a human member of my family I would be a happy for them to go a week without 'going', but when it's a pet, they can't say how they feel and I worry my head off :(
