
I have been feeding mine on raw foods now for about six months. There are seven dogs here, five toy breeds and two large. Over the past few weeks, one or more of them have started to vomit entire feeds shortly after eating, whether it be green tripe or red meats.My supplier is DEFRA registered and therefore it is fit for human consumption.Having said that, the other day, two of the toy breeds started vomiting, and then awful diarrhoea for a few days. It got to the point, where both of them now refuse to eat it and even one of the greediest breeds will not eat more than a small amount.I have been convinced that I have been giving my pack the best nutrition ever-returning to natural feeding. However, when wondering where to dispose of some uneaten red meat the other day, I decided to put a small amount down the loo.two or three pieces must have been animal gut with little pockets of gas trapped, as they would not flush easily. However, I noticed after a couple of flushes that some of the raw meat looked normal, but some of it was pillar box red and very unnaturally so, in my opinion. I am obviously naive to believe an allegedly natural product does not have additives, but I am convinced that the meat not only contained dye, but a hefty amount.Manufacturers' tinned foods and heat sealed pouches/sacks of dry food all have 'use by' dates and information to support their willingness to be seen to be accountable for their product/s. We dye our own meat apparently, cheap sausages and burgers particularly. The US does not allow this, as the dye has been shown to be carcinogenic in those poor little lab rats. I am back on Royal Canin I'm afraid! Anyone experienced these concerns?
