hello i'm nita,
bought a staffy male pup last night of only eight weeks old, slightly worried as he intends to be extremely timid. The only time he'll show any activity is when his eating. other than that, he'll sit still in one place. Just wondering whether it's normal this is a whole new experience for me. i'd bought him from a litter of eight so he has been amongst other puppies, what i did notice that he was sitting away from the others. His KC registered, have papers, i have also seen both parents and this is my very first time of buying a staffy puppy of only eight weeks old, and his due his first jab 9 - 10 weeks, i thank anyone for any advice.
If youve only had him a day then I wouldnt worry, however he may be a quieter character than some others in the litter.
Did you visit a few times before picking so you could watch the behaviours? Also the breeder should have had an idea of which puppy was ie most boisterous and which was quieter etc....
As long as he is just quiet and not frightened i wouldnt worry, he is probably just biding his time ready to pounce and be the monster most puppies are. I have no experience of Staffie Pups so maybe this is the norm anyway, my breed is very outgoing and as soon as Ive come home with a pup they are off exploring and very boisterous from day 1.
Dogs are like people though, and are all different.
Enjoy your puppy
Beth
