Hi, Can anyone tell me at what age a Sprocker Spaniel is likely to reach its adult height?  I have been told that once the last milk teeth have gone, she will grow no taller or longer but that she will continue to broaden out until she reaches about 9 months.  Was this advice sound?

as this is a cross between two different breeds rather than a breed in its own right it's anyone's guess what size your girl will finish.  Anything between the size of the smallest cocker to the largest springer :)

I've never had a breed nor known of one to be anything like full size at the stage of teeth changing - that happens at around 4/5 months of age on average and any breeds, cross breeds and mongrels I've known over the years have not been fully grown at that stage.

Most medium size dogs, regardless of their origins, continue to fill out, body up and mature until around 2+ years - nowt to do with height as growth spurts can come and go without rhyme or apparent reason over differing periods be that months or, with one of mine, until almost 2 years.

I'm sure you'll love your girl whether an itsy bitsy or otherwise.

As they are a crossbreed it's anybody's guess unfortunately. Smaller breeds tend to be fully grown quite early on, (like 6 months or so) larger breeds later (a year or more) and here you have a cross between a fairly small breed and a medium sized one. I'd say most breeds grow longer than what you've been told though.

I have a friend with 2 of them, who live on a farm. Mad as hatters as you would expect with this cross.
The pair of them are really no smaller than your average Springer and only have a slightly smaller head than a Springer. I can't really see any Cocker in them. But as its a cross breed, all will look and act different.
I would look at a Cocker and see when they tend to finish growing and that would be the earliest i would guess and then the Springer would be the latest. Most dogs finish growing height wise at a certain age depending on breed and then they fill out over time.

The breeder should be able to guide you.  I am assuming she is a typical one and has been bred from the working strains of the two breeds.  Around the country these tend to be a type for the area and in this area there is not so much difference in size or even conformation between these two working breeds so it may be more predictable than cross breeds generally are.
