Interesting development... What do you think?

I like that because I can get the results I know my new dogs parents have but can't find

Everything seems to be going online now

Has to be a positive step, but I think it's a shame that they're restricting it to registration numbers though, as of course those who don't have these are stuck. I wonder why, as the information is in the public domain anyway, by virtue of the BRS.

shame it not like rasdata in sweden where you can look up the affix of the breeder and the register dog name,to find all health test, show results, litter of puppies.working.test and a lot more.
where here in the uk you got to have the regsieter number of the dog so the  only person will have thats the breeder and the owner of the dog.

Interesting, and definitely a step in the right direction.  I wonder how up-to-date it is - my boy was eye tested PRA clear at the end of September and the latest result is not showing up yet.

Our breed club pretty much does all this. I should imagine a colossal task to undertake for every dog in th UK though!!!! Although if other breed clubs also do this they could collate the info they all have and get it together in one place. Little job for someone to do in their spare time!!!! :)

I suspect as it is very new it will be "tweaked" over time. If you click onto the link at the top of the page labelled puppies, you will find it takes you straight to puppies. Then you can go through to transfers.

It is useful to see the sire and dam and their results too.

If it has not been published in a recent BRS yet I assume it might be the reason it is not on there yet. They tend to update these things one at a time.

Shame that we can't put Date of Death on the system, this will show that many of us have extremely long living pedigree dogs!

I looked at my two bitches results and found everything was up to date (hip scores,PRA,FN goinscopy) except for the yearly eye test -which was still on as last years!!! Spoke to the KC and emailed a copy of the new results over to them,I was told it takes a bit of time to get results back from BVA????

hi,

Yes it does take a while for the results to be updated, they have to be sent by from the BVA to the KC and then finally onto this site. The Kennel Club have said this is a work in progress and hope that very shortly you will be able to search for any dog in your breed simply by putting in a search by the dogs name. This is the first step to making information on a specific dogs health open for all to see.

This is one of the plans the KC had pre Jemimas programme which the dog press knew about but where asked not to say anything about although  we could "speculate" so that breeders would have time to be prepared for this.

Another area they are quietly tightening up on is the ABS and already just over 50 breeder members have been removed from the scheme in the last few weeks.

That's a postive move . It at least shows they have realised there are some flaws and by removing people is at least a step in the right direction.

I have reservations which I have mentioned before that a AB breeding 4 different breeds but only  being a member of one has the Breed club members accolade against their name regardless of what one of the 4 you look at. I personally feel this is misleading to a buyer who would not understand this.  As someone who takes confidence in telling buyers to buy from breed club members ( knowing 95% of them) I would want the accolade symbol only to be visable if the person is a member of the breed the puppy searcher is looking up.
