Hello, I'm judging at match tonight at my local club, mixed breeds excluding my own as I'm the only one with my breed. I'm so nervous, any tips would be great! arrrrgggghhhh

I was so nervous when i judged for the first time!! Just make sure you go over them properly, talk to the owners, check the age of the dog, make it fun and learn some new information about the dog itself... pick what you think is the best. It is scary, the scariest part being the decision at the end having to be yours, when i did it once i had the steward whom i knew after saying he wouldnt of made that choice... oh fantastic, a right boost of confidence!! What ever happens though, you will make one person happy! :) Just dont worry and have fun, thats what it is all about :D

The number 1 thing to remember..........
.......... when you start judging is NEVER to say I'll have your 'Tripe Hound' madam....because if you've got it wrong and
it's a 'Pizzle hound' you will be slated before you've finished the match.

Just say I'll have number 21 or that one....... be warned!! It is very easy to get a very poor Field mixed up with a Sussex etc and the owner will be most annoyed.

That's what I was going to say - best make sure whether it's dogs or handling, our match nights are always judged on handling. :-)
